SUMMARY:Seeing Things As They Really Are
DESCRIPTION:DHARMA MATI\, BERLIN: Understanding the Key Points of Emptiness\nwith Khenpo Tashi \nWe spend our lives relating to the world through assumptions: about ourselves\, about others\, and about the way things are. Yet according to the Buddhist teachings\, many of the difficulties we experience arise precisely because we mistake appearance for reality. \nUnderstanding the difference between the two is at the heart of the Buddhist teaching on emptiness. What does emptiness actually mean? Does emptiness mean that nothing exists? If things are empty\, why do our experiences feel so vivid and real? And how can understanding emptiness help us live with greater freedom\, clarity\, and compassion in everyday life? \nDrawing on selected highlights from The Beacon of Certainty by Mipham Rinpoche\, one of the great works of Tibetan Buddhist thought\, Khenpo Tashi explores some of the essential questions at the heart of Buddhist wisdom with warmth\, precision\, and a deep grounding in the Tibetan tradition. \nWHO THIS EVENT IS FOR\nThis retreat is open to all practitioners with familiarity in meditation and Lojong. \nWhether you are newer to the philosophical dimension of the Dharma or a long-time practitioner seeking a firmer foundation beneath your practice\, these teachings offer something increasingly rare: the opportunity to develop a clear and stable confidence in the view of emptiness\, one that can genuinely support our path and our daily life in every circumstance. \nTEACHERS\nKhenpo Tashi is one of the most gifted and respected Nyingma khenpos of his generation\, trained at Namdroling Monastery under the guidance of his root teacher Kyabjé Penor Rinpoche. For the past fourteen years\, at the request of Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche\, he has served as the principal teacher at the Rigpa Shedra (Buddhist study college) in Pharping\, Nepal\, offering teachings on both Sutra and Tantra to hundreds of students\, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Over the past four years\, his online teachings have brought his guidance to an ever-wider audience within the Rigpa community and beyond. \nRenowned for the depth of his learning\, the precision and clarity of his explanations\, and his rare ability to connect with students according to their needs and level of understanding\, Khenpo Tashi’s teachings are consistently experienced as both inspiring and transformative. \nThese teachings will be offered in Tibetan with live English translation by Rigpa Senior Teacher Damien van Effenterre.

SUMMARY:The Healing Power of Mind - According to Buddhist Wisdom
DESCRIPTION:Rigpa USA Annual Autumn Retreat\n| with Alain Beauregard. \n| Open to everyone. \n| Can we contribute to our own healing with our minds? Can practices such as meditation\, compassion\, and visualization help to realize the transformative potential of illness? During this event\, we will explore the path to healing through various practices that contribute to healing the whole being\, based on Alain’s experience in healing terminal cancer. \nWe will offer practical tools and new perspectives by addressing the practices of unconditional acceptance and loving kindness\, in order to develop a healthy relationship with oneself\, an essential aspect of the path to healing. We will introduce and practice the powerful practice of Guru Rinpoche of Healing\, combining invocation\, visualization\, and recitation of a sacred mantra. \nWe will present a new perspective on healing based on the Four Medical Tantra\, the source of Tibetan Medicine. And we will focus on practice to enter gradually into the various healing practices and spend time familiarizing ourselves and experiencing them deeply. \nThis approach introduces a holistic view on the topic of healing that allows us to deal with all physical\, mental\, and emotional suffering. It considers healing from the perspective of our entire being\, not just the body. Whether the body dies or not\, one can still live a profound experience of healing\, hence being better prepared for death. \nIMPORTANT – In case of serious illness\, Tibetan teachers strongly advise everyone to primarily follow an appropriate medical treatment and benefit from a spiritual approach in addition.
