Additionally, as part of the Wang Dü festival earlier this year, we purchased 2,700 prayer flags, which you can still purchase directly to hang at your house, or for extra auspiciousness, you can sponsor the hanging of prayer flags at one of Rigpa’s main centres, such as here at Lerab Ling, Dzgochen Beara, Dharma Mati, and Blueys. More about the practice of Wang Dü
Rigpa’s lama advisers have recommended that the Rigpa sangha focus on the magnetising practice of Wang Dü so that we may bring our dharma activities to fruition.
The full title of this prayer by the great Mipham Rinpoche is called The Great Cloud of Blessings: the Prayer which Magnetises All that Appears and Exists. According to Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche: This prayer is called “that which brings within one’s power all that appears and all that exists’. It goes by such a name because if you make this prayer fervently, you will be able to magnetize or bring within your power the phenomena of the entire universe. This comprises both the inanimate environment and its animate inhabitants, sentient beings. According to Sogyal Rinpoche, ‘If you look more deeply, Wangdü is magnetizing but it is also taming your mind. Transforming your mind is the most powerful Wangdü. Practising Wangdü brings more wang tang.
Many of the Rigpa sangha participated in the International Wang Dü Prayer Festival in March 2026! Thanks to your participation, we accumulated approximately 50,000 Wang Dü prayers as a Sangha during the Festival – the vast majority of which we accumulated during the 24 Hour Livestream!
To date, we have accumulated almost 140,000 Wang Dü prayers.
We look forward to the sangha coming together in centres and online for our next Wang Dü 24 hour accumulation. May this practice support Rigpa’s dharma activities and bring peacce and sanity to the world.
