Wishes for the Tibetan New Year

Greetings for the New Tibetan Year, Year of the Water Tiger
As we enter this new Tibetan year, the Year of the Water Tiger 2149, we take this opportunity to pause and honour the great Buddhist masters who, to our dismay, have recently entered parinirvana. In what is a great loss to followers of the Buddhadharma around the world, we have been struck by the departure of some of the greatest teachers of our time: Kyabjé Dodrupchen Rinpoche, Kyabjé Dudjom Sangye Pema Shepa Rinpoche, and Venerable Thích Nhất Hạnh. These masters were living examples of the Dharma and crucial guides to us all.
As followers of the Nyingma tradition, out of respect for the passing of these great masters, Rigpa, like many Nyingma monasteries around the world, will not hold the traditional Losar celebrations this year. Instead we take this time to turn our mind inward and practice. To begin the new year, the Rigpa Sangha will join together to practice in-person and online in the presence of Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche and Mayumla Tsering Wangmo.
May our true nature, our deepest love and wisdom, give us the strength and inspiration to face the challenging circumstances of our world today, especially the suffering brought about by war, conflict, epidemics and environmental destruction.
May each of us, according to our own capacity, do whatever we can to contribute to the well-being of all beings.
Be well and stay healthy.
