Many of us are familiar with the retreats that take place and the teachers who visit Lerab Ling each year, but so much more happens in one year in Lerab Ling! As we come to the end of 2023, it’s a great moment to look back, celebrate and appreciate!
It is with great sadness and sorrow that we share the news that Mayum Tsering Wangmo, beloved mother of Sogyal Rinpoche, Dzogchen Rinpoche, Thigyal and Dechen Lakar and the elder sister of Khandro Tsering Chodrön, has passed away, merging her mind with the dharmadatu.
The teams from Lerab Ling wish to share with the wider Rigpa sangha the latest news and developments, so far in 2022. We hope you enjoy this brief, newsy info-video.
While slowly being adapted to become a Tibetan Buddhist centre, Lerab Ling was used from day one as a place for teachings and practice. During its first two years of existence, it was visited by Kyabje Dodrupchen Rinpoche, hosted a three-month retreat with teachings by Sogyal Rinpoche, Dzogchen Rinpoche and many others, and provided the setting for the unique historic meeting of the two main incarnations of Tertön Sogyal.
30 years ago the land that became Lerab Ling was purchased. French sangha members Odile and Maxime de Simone share their account of the circumstances that led to Rigpa purchasing this rundown farmhouse which would become the glorious retreat centre we have today.
Recently Lerab Ling received the concluding judgement in the legal case between Lerab Ling and Midi Libre newspaper. We wanted to share the update with you.
