Join us in the magnetising prayer of Wangdu
Rigpa Vision Board
A message from the Vision Board on Chotrul Düchen:
Dear friends,
We’re writing to you with all the joy and optimism that comes at the beginning of a new year. Looking at the many practice, teaching and sacred construction activities happening in Rigpa around the world, it seems our sangha can look forward to a creative and fruitful Dragon Year!
Underpinning all of Rigpa’s activity is the collective power of our individual and group practice. Already we have been accomplishing the annual intensive group practices of Rigdzin Dupa, Vajrakilaya, Riwo Sangchö and Tendrel Nyesel in Australia, Germany, France, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Most of these were offered online allowing many more individuals from around the world to participate.
Now, on this auspicious day of Chotrul Düchen, we’re writing to let you know that our Lama advisors have recommended the main practice for Rigpa to focus on this year is the magnetising practice of Wang Dü. The full title of this prayer by Mipham Rinpoche is called The Great Cloud of Blessings: the Prayer which Magnetises All that Appears and Exists.
So, let’s gather our energy and focus on reciting this prayer in a way that brings out the meaning but also the joy and bliss of gathering together to accumulate. For example, you could set a goal to accumulate 7, 21, 108 or more recitations of the prayer, or gather with sangha friends once/week to recite the prayer as a group. Most important is that we bring meaning and focus to the practice, and as we practise, let’s keep in mind creating auspicious conditions for the recognition of Sogyal Rinpoche’s tulku, all of Rigpa’s projects and harmony in the sangha.
Some wonderful resources to support meaningful practice are already on Prajna (login to Prajna to access these materials). And, in the near future, you will receive more guidelines and information so that we can all maximise the opportunity to participate in this practice, and this special time in our evolution as a sangha.
May the Dragon Year blaze with enlightened, creative activity!
With all our best wishes,
from Seth and Yara, on behalf of the Vision Board
P.S. in this first month of the year (February 10 – March 10), the power of our practice is said to be multiplied a hundred thousand times, so it is an especially important time to direct the practice and make strong aspirations, prayers and dedication.
