Advice from Khenchen Pema Sherab for the Rigpa Sangha
Rigpa
In Lerab Ling, we currently have the great fortune to be hosting Khenchen Pema Sherab. who is one of the senior-most khenpos in the Nyingma tradition. He has been staying here for several months, and during this time he has been giving live and recorded teachings and advice for Rigpa and the sangha.
Just this week, he spontaneously felt the wish to share the following advice with the whole Rigpa sangha.
“This is a time when we face adversity, for example with the passing away of Sogyal Rinpoche, and also now with the pandemic as well. There are some difficulties that are beyond our human control, and which simply cannot be fixed.
At a time like this, as Dharma practitioners we need to take this adversity onto the path in as much as our understanding allows, and to make use of difficulties, by embracing them with our practice.
As for the pandemic, of course, it makes everyone feel very constricted, being shut in and often isolated and alone. At the same time, it gives us an unexpected opportunity to go within ourselves and to spend more time deepening our practice.”
